Course Goal / Objective
Aim of this course is To teach how to investigate the basic geological data in urban planning; to enable students with the ability to define a methodological procedure in order to decide on the geological siting.
Course Content
In the planning of the dam, suitable site selection, permeability and stability problems, water escape from reservoir area, landslide problems in dam and reservoir area, fault zones and gypsum problems and damaging methods. Problems related to dam type encountered during construction phase. dams that become destroyed and not used, samples from the world and Turkey constitute the content of the course.
