Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the evolution of Turkey in the neotectonics time period, its active faults and seismicity.

Course Content

General descriptions, stress, principles of neotectonics, neotectonics of Turkey, neotectonic regions, earthquakes, relationship between earthquakes and faults, factors affecting the neotectonics and active tectonics of Turkey, instrumental studies in active tectonics, paleoseismology, paleoseismologic methods, soil mechanics and neotectonics.
