Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce emission standards and emission reduction systems in vehicles and to present the latest developments in technology in this direction to students

Course Content

Fuels and combustion. Emissions, emission standards and measurement of emissions. Emission reduction systems on vehicles. Crankcase ventilation system and lambda sensor. catalytic converter. Diesel particulate filters. EGR system. Fuel evaporation control (EVAP) system. Fuel evaporation control (EVAP) system. Secondary air system. Technological developments in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system and diesel fuel injection systems.
