Course Goal

To discuss the sustainable design decisions that can be taken for environmental awareness in architectural design while defining the relationship between Sustainability and Ecology and Architecture. To determine the appropriate methods and techniques for environmental and energy sensitivity in the design, application and usage stages of the architectural product. Researching, analyzing and synthesizing architectural artificial environment designs in society/environment/economy interaction. Acquiring the necessary theoretical knowledge for the designer in environmentally sensitive and sustainable design.

Course Content

While defining the place of ecological designs and sustainability concepts in the field of architectural discipline, their necessity and importance according to today's conditions are examined. In the component of Society / Environment / Economy; will learn how to interpret environmental, climate and geographical data from a theoretical perspective and how to use them in design. Regional and global principles in sustainable architectural design will be analyzed for the designer, decision maker, practitioner and user.
