Course Goal

The overall objective of this course is to study system design and improvement problems (such as process selection, layout, buffers and production balancing) in manufacturing systems throughout all their life cycle.

Course Content

Classification of manufacturing systems, facility location and layout, material handling systems, modern transportation and storage systems(AGV, AS/RS systems), production line balancing, job design, system optimization approaches.
