Course Goal / Objective

The objective of this course it is aimed to teach organic and bioorganic molecules, some of their reactions how take place with their reaction mechanisms.To teach the synthetic strategies for some organic and bioorganic molecules.

Course Content

Functional groups in organic and bioorganic structures and their structural properties, Some therapeutic molecules in molecular biology, Stereochemistry, Types of organic reactions; Biosynthesis, Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions, Elimination Reactions, Organic and Bioorganic Carbonyl Condensation Reactions, Esterification and Ester Hydrolysis Mechanism, Electrophilic Substitution Reactions, Organic and Bioorganic Synthesis Strategies, Frontier Orbital Theory, Pericyclic Reactions, Biosynthesis, Stereoselectivity in Organic and Bioorganic Synthesis Oxidation-reduction-electron transfer reactions, Biomolecules; amino acids, enzymes, proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, oligoribonucleotides, ribophosphoramides and lipids. Organic Spectroscopy, Heterocyclic Compounds. Alkaloids, Asymmetric synthesis, Peptide synthesis and reaction mechanisms.
