Course Goal

The aim of this course is to develop a working understanding of the foundations of polymeric materials.

Introduction to Polymer Science and Classifications of Polymers. Structure of Polymers and Polymerization Mechanisms. Properties of Thermoplastic Materials and Their Applications. Properties of Thermoset Materials and Their Applications. Classification, Properties and Applications of Elastomers. Additives. Physical, Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Polymers. Production Methods. Characterization Techniques.
