Course Goal

The aim of this course is learn about; knitting technology, knitting fabric structures and analysis, knitting machines and production preparations, cost calculations and knitting fabric deffects.

Course Content

Introduction to Knitting Technology. Knitting Types and Patterning. Fabric Types, Structures, Analysis and Properties, Knitting Yarn and Preparation, Weft Directional Knitting and Machinery, Warp Directional Knitting and Machinery, Fabric Defects and Quality Control. Fabric Performance Properties, Machine and Production Accounts and Cost in Knitting, Business Organization.

Course Precondition

It is beneficial to have prior knowledge or ideas from pre-course lecture notes and various sources and/or the internet.
