Course Goal / Objective

To learn the diaphragm muscle in experimental animals according to human anatomical and physiological structure, to isolate the rat diaphragm muscles, to measure and record the effects of anesthetic and pharmacological agents on the mechanical activities of the diaphragm muscle.

Course Content

Diaphragm muscle and its anatomy and physiology in experimental animals used in biophysical research, the structure of the diaphragm muscle, its dissection, preparation, measurement and recording of the biomechanical properties of the muscle, the effects of anesthetic and pharmacological agents on the muscle and how to evaluate these effects are taught.
