Course Goal / Objective
Learning the medicinal plants that are important in phytotherapy by grouping them according to the indications they are used in the treatment, learning the active substance groups that are effective for the relevant indication and examining the pharmacological effects of these substances. Investigation of interactions and possible side effects of medicinal plants with food, drugs and other plants.
Course Content
Fundamentals of phytotherapy, contribution of pharmacological fundamentals in phytotherapy, bioactive substances of herbal origin and their isolation, pharmacological effects of isolated bioactive substances, mechanisms that play a role in the pharmacological effects of bioactive substances, current phytotherapy approaches, pharmacological pathways involved in phytotherapy, phytopharmacology, current phytopharmacological drugs.
