Course Goal / Objective
To give information about the status of prescribed herbal medicines in Turkey and in the world, to elucidate their therapeutic effects at the olecular level, and to give information about R&D studies on currently prescribed herbal medicines.
Course Content
Basic principles in the use of herbal medicines in treatment, bioactive substances in phytotherapy and isolation methods from plants, historical development of phytotherapy in phytotherapy, comparison of traditional phytotherapeutic approaches with today's phytotherapeutic approaches Comparison of the use of medicinal plants for therapeutic purposes in the world and in Turkey. Analyzing the pharmacological action mechanisms of drugs originating at the olecular level. R&D studies on herbal drugs prescribed today.
