Course Goal / Objective

Participants who complete this program will have knowledge of child and adolescent health from a public health perspective

Course Content

Definitions, importance of child health, the child's place and importance in society and family, childhood stages, factors affecting child health, mortality and morbidity, measurement and indicators of childhood health, the ÇEKÜS , and immunisation

LO01 Describes the importance of child and adolescent health in our country and in the world, the value of the child in the family and society, the healthy relationship between mother and baby and its importance, defines the place of child health in service prioritisation
LO02 Counts the social factors that lead to the emergence of common diseases, accidents and injuries in childhood, and defines early diagnosis of these diseases and the preventive medicine approach to these diseases
LO03 Ranks childhood periods, important health problems according to these periods, describes diagnosis and early diagnosis of these diseases; compares the difference of nutrition according to these periods
LO04 Describes the nutritional differences between breastfeeding, supplementary food, etc. according to childhood periods, counts the necessary recommendations, describes breastfeeding and breast care techniques and proper nutrition
LO05 Counts child health indicators, factors affecting child health, major causes of infant and child health morbidity and mortality; accesses these data, and makes related calculations
LO06 Defines the child health service model, presentation and related public or private programmes carried out at the level of primary care medicine in our country, and the printed and/or digital media such as forms, etc., in use
