Course Goal

All students who take the course should acquire basic information about intercellular communication and intracellular signaling pathways, learn the biotechnological uses of this information and follow the researches on this subject.

Course Content

Definitions of receptor and signal, receptor types, intercellular messengers, intracellular signal transduction mechanisms, receptor activation and inactivation mechanisms, principles of signal cascade, oncogenic and tumor suppressor signals and mutations, methods of targeting signal pathways for therapeutic purposes in cancer, article review and presentation .

LO01 Gain knowledge about the role of signal transduction at every stage from DNA repair to cell division, targeting methods of signal transduction pathways in the treatment of diseases and their use in the field of Translational Medicine by using interactive and research-based learning methods.
LO02 In this course, students understand the mechanism of the biological behavior of cells, the receptors that affect these behaviors, the signals and how the transmission is done.
LO03 Learns the evaluation of scientific articles on the related field and make article presentations
