Course Goal / Objective

Cell origins, evolution, the main methods used in the investigation and understanding of the basic components of the cell. Giving information about the structure and functions of cell membrane model, cytoplasm membrane and surface formation, Endoplasmic Retuculum, Golgiaparat, Lysosomes, Vocuol and Ribosomes, to understand the biosynthesis and degradation of cellular proteins.

Course Content

Origin and evolution of the cell. Prokaryotic cell; Model cell and model organisms. Basic molecular components of the cell. Enzymes, enzymatic interactions and regulation of catalytic activities. Biosynthesis of the cell's basic molecular. Cell membrane model and structure of plasma membrane. Transport of substances in the cell membrane, endocytosis and exocytosis. Cell surface formations, cell walls and extracellular matrix. Cell-cell, cell-matrix interactions. The structure and functions of endoplasmic retuculum, Golgi apparatus, Lysozyme and Central vacuole. Phagocytosis and autophagy. Structure and functions of ribosomes, Posttranslational changes of proteins. General enzyme and shearles, protein degradation, protein degradation.
