Course Goal

Managerial Economics is concerned with the application of economic principles and methodologies to key management decisions in organizations. It provides a better understanding of the foreign trade environment in which an organization operates, as well as principles to support the organization's objectives. The main objective of the course is to develop tools.

Course Content

Managerial Economics examines economic principles and methodologies applied to key managerial decisions in firms and organizations. It provides the background for understanding the organization's decisions to output and shut down production as well as conflicts of interest within a firm. The course provides this learning in a context that emphasizes strategic behavior and global economies. Topics cover management decision making, supply and demand, empirical methods, organization and objectives of the firm, competition and monopoly, pricing with market power, oligopoly, game theory, uncertainty, and the economic foundations of global trade.
