Course Goal
Gaining a scientific, impartial and analytical perspective on the power struggle up to the 4th century AH.
Course Content
Religion-politics relationship; The Qur'an's approach to political issues; Tribal mentality and its reflections on Islamic political thought; Concepts of Caliphate and Imamate; The social change after the Prophet, the problems it caused and the ways of its solution; Umayyad-Hashimi relations and their place in the power struggle; Reactive approaches and externality mentality; Mawali-Arab relations and Mawali's attitude; Murji, Mu'tazili, Shiite and Sunni approaches.
