Course Goal

It is to teach different exercise models to be used in different diseases where exercise is beneficial and will contribute to its treatment, and to teach how to prepare an exercise prescription.

Course Content

Examination of the place of exercise in the treatment of different chronic diseases, with examples within the scope of defined diseases.

LO01 Describe the effects of physical activity on the whole body and on organ systems.
LO02 Learn the stress and responses given by different types of physical activity and exercise models on organ systems and the body.
LO03 Learn the effects of strength training on health. They will learn the mechanisms of adaptation of the musculoskeletal system to strength training.
LO04 Learn the response of children and young people to exercise, specific to age groups.
LO05 Learn the effects of pregnancy and exercise on child and maternal health at different stages of pregnancy.
LO06 Learn about the changes that occur in menopause and the effects of exercise on these changes.
LO07 Learn the importance of exercise in acute and chronic infections and the conditions under which exercise is contraindicated.
LO08 Learn the effects of exercise in patients with coronary artery disease and will have knowledge of the main principles of preparing a special exercise prescription for these patients.
LO09 Learn the importance and place of exercise in heart rhythm disorders. They will gain awareness about the issues that should be considered when recommending exercises to the patient with rhythm problems.
LO10 Learn the importance of exercise in the treatment of hypertension. They will be able to distinguish the issues that should be considered in preparing an exercise prescription to be used in the treatment of this disease.
LO11 Prepare exercise prescriptions for chronic obstructive pulmonary patients.
LO12 Prepare exercise prescriptions for diabetic patients.
LO13 Prepare exercise programs for the treatment of metabolic syndrome and obesity.
LO14 Learn to prepare exercise program for cancer patients
