Course Goal

The aim of this course is; to provide students of the architecture department with the ability to calculate the cross-sectional effects of simple structural elements, the knowledge of determining force-displacement and stress-strain relations, the ability to dimension simple systems according to safety stresses, and the calculation of the centers of gravity and moments of inertia of surface shapes.

Course Content

This lesson consists of cross-sectional effects on bars loaded in the plane and drawing diagrams of these effects, normal force and deformation in bars subjected to axial loading, static moment and moment of inertia, plane systems and simple bending.
