Course Goal

To discuss the design decisions that can be taken for the purpose of energy sensitivity in architectural design, while defining the relationship between Ecology and Architecture. To determine appropriate methods and techniques for environmental and energy sensitivity in building form and space organization. Investigation, analysis and synthesis of Ecology - Energy - Architecture Artificial Environment interaction. Acquiring the necessary theoretical knowledge for the designer on environmental and energy sensitivity issues.

Course Content

While examining the necessity and importance of environment and energy sensitive designs according to today's conditions in architecture, Ecological Designs and Energy Conservation issues are defined within the discipline of Architecture. While analyzing the sample designs depending on the regional climatic characteristics, it will be learned how to interpret the potential of benefiting from renewable energy sources in the architectural artificial environment in stages such as space organization, building envelope, and building materials from a theoretical perspective and how to use them in design.
