Course Goal

Definition of biotechnology, its application areas and its use in plant breeding.

Course Content

This course; definition and application areas of biotechnology, plant tissue culture and laboratory organization, embryo recovery and embryo culture, somatic embryogenesis and organogenesis, haploid plant production, protoplast culture and somatic hybridization, gene transfer methods to plants, molecular genetic laboratory organization, DNA, RNA structures analysis, Includes PCR mechanism, genetic markers: morphological and biochemical markers, molecular marker technology and GMO and its status in the world.
