Course Goal

Through this course, students will not only display their ceramic art skills but also their proficiency in creating functional and aesthetic public artworks. Course Goals: 1) Conceptual Understanding: Aim: Enhance students’ ability to turn conceptual ideas into tangible public artworks Outcome: Creation of functional and aesthetically pleasing ceramic artworks 2)Technical Application: Aim: Apply existing ceramic skills in creating intricate, outdoor, and public artworks Outcome: Demonstration of advanced technical skills 3) Collaborative Working: Aim: Enhance collaborative skills and idea exchange Outcome: Well-rounded artworks enriched by diverse perspectives 4) Public Art Integration: Aim: Understand the considerations for installing artworks in public spaces. Outcome: Successful integration of art into a public setting. 5) Presentation and Critique Skills: Aim: Improve presentation and critique engagement . Outcome: Clear articulation of creative and technical processes

Course Content

This Ceramic Art course, designed for senior students, involves a comprehensive project where students will create, develop, and install ceramic artworks in a public space within the Fine Arts faculty. Project Planning: Concept and design proposal development Selection and preparation of materials Design Execution: Application of advanced ceramic techniques Refinement of designs based on feedback Installation and Presentation: Installation of artworks in public spaces Documentation and presentation of final artworks Evaluation and Critique: Participate in group critiques Explore the relationship between ceramic art and public spaces
