Course Goal

Firstly; to give basic information about the conditions that caused agricultural revolution, the importance of agriculture and its place in the history of civilization, and the present and the future of agriculture. Secondly; to create awareness of professional solidarity, professional ethics, and the conduct of the profession of social responsibility, personal rights of Agricultural Engineering, and the legal regulations related to agricultural engineering.

Course Content

Definition and scope of agricultural history, hunting and gathering in pre-agricultural communities, Agricultural Revolution, Agriculture İn Mesopotamia, Egypt And Anatolia, The industrial revolution and the effects to agriculture, Period of the Republic of agriculture, The definition and scope of Agricultural Engineering, Turkish legislation on Agricultural Engineering, professional organizations of agricultural engineers, objectives and functions of TMMOB and ZMO, Concepts and Theories of Agricultural Ethics, Current agricultural ethical issues.

LO01 To have knowledge about agricultural change and transformation processes / times from past to present.
LO02 Understands the relationship between the changes in the production systems and technology utilization of agriculture, industry and communication technologies in historical processes and scientific developments and analyzes the future and possible developments of agricultural education in a multidimensional way.
LO03 Defines the terms Morality, Ethics and Deontology and knows their usage areas in practice.
LO04 Knows the areas of activity and responsibilities of the Agricultural Engineering Professional organization and adopts behaviors and expectations appropriate to the science of duty.
LO05 Learns the effects of agricultural engineering on health, environment and food safety in universal and social dimensions.
LO06 Knows the agricultural production systems and developments of the Ottoman period and the Republic of Turkey and analyzes the developments comparatively.
