Course Goal / Objective

To learn studyin on terrigenous sedimentary rocks and learn petrographical analyses.

Course Content

Classification of silisiclastic rocks. Identification and examination of main contents (Quartz, Feldspar and rock fragments) of silisiclastic sedimentary rocks. Modal analysis on silisiclastic rocks. Provenance studies on sandstones using their content. Special analysis on sandstone petrography. Discussions on provenance studies methods.
