Course Goal

To introduce the elements that constitute the machineries, calculation approaches, methods and equations. To teach the strain types and calculation methods of machine elements. To view the theories of refraction. To introduce connecting elements, motion transmission elements and the beds, kinds and of utilization properties , design specifications, and design calculation methods.

Course Content

Design concept, design principles. General classification of machine elements. Allowable stresses. Fatigue and permanent safety. Linking elements. Bonding, soldering and welding connections features and shaping the rules of application and strength calculations. Bolt connections, properties, and shaping the rules of application and strength calculations. Axles and shafts, features and shaping the rules of application and strength calculations. Bedding features and shaping the rules of application and strength calculations.

LO01 Learns steel materials widely used in making machines and their characteristics, types of stress,vsimple and compound stresses and safety tension and resistance.
LO02 Makes calculations of tension within the boundaries of safe working in a possible business organization and does necessary shaping and sizing. Checks the safety of an existing machine elements according to the current stipulated operating conditions.
LO03 Grasps mechanical design idea. Relates his/her design skill to the previously acquired information such as technical drawings, materials, mechanics, machine dynamics, and strength, etc.
LO04 Have analytical and systematic solution skills to gain engineering formation.
LO05 Designs simple agricultural machines, draws the whole picture of them, and makes calculation of machine elements.
