Course Goal

Training on management methods of plant pests, diseases and weeds ( quarantine, cultural, physical, biological and chemical) with detailed and practical information based on the examples.

Course Content

General information about control methods on diseases, pests and weeds; quarantine, cultural, physical, biological, chemical control methods, practices and integrated pest management.

Course Precondition

To have taken courses in Entomology, Phytopathology, Bacteriology, Nematology, Mycology, Virology, Acarology or General Plant Protection.

LO01 Basic information on the control of agricultural pests, diseases and weeds, quarantine measures, cultural precautions, physical-mechanical precautions, and the application of biotechnical and biological warfare methods are learned.
LO02 Learns the active substances, mechanisms of action and application methods of pesticides.
LO03 Learns the prevention of contamination and early warning models on the control against plant disease agents, pests and weeds.
LO04 Learns the application principles and methods of the most appropriate control methods within the framework of integrated pest management principles to be considered and the parameters to be considered for the control of agricultural pests, diseases and weeds.
