Course Goal

The situation of vegetable seed industry in the world and in Turkey, its structure and properties, seed morphology and development, basic principals of seed production, seed processing and conservation technologies, and seed production methods according to vegetables are aimed.

Course Content

The situation of vegetable seed industry in the world and in Turkey, its structure and properties; variety types in vegetables, seed classes and levels, seed quality characteristics (genetic, biological, physical, and pathological properties); vegetable seed production techniques according to species, issues that should be paid attention during seed production and field and laboratory controls, seed harvest, seperation, drying, packeging, conserving and storaging according to species are the contents of this lesson.
