Course Goal / Objective
Access to the secondary data related to agricultural economics, applying basic sampling knowledge in order to get primary data, to be able to summarise data by classifying them in various ways, to be able to calculate and interprete several statistical measures such as indices, parities, domestic and foreign trade rates.
Course Content
Definition, classification and resources of statistics; Data mostly used in agricultural economics field, their classification nd sources; Compiling statistical data, techniques of data compilation (questionairres, observations, experiments, projections); basic knolwedge required for analysing quantitative data; methods use areas for basic and compound index calculations; calculations for growth rates; time series analyses (trend, conjunctural analysis, seasonal fluctuations and random movements).
