Course Goal / Objective
The course aims to explore different models for transmedial content and to offer a critical perspective on how media exists in different formats. It also aims to provide students with a variety of practical techniques to extend their media studies to the transmedia context.
Course Content
Transmedia refers to the integration of narratives experienced through different means of communication (radio, television, cinema, computer games, etc.). Ideally, a transmedia narrative unfolds across multiple media platforms, with each new text making a unique and valuable contribution to the whole. Transmedia focuses on strategic content creation and cross-media planning strategies for different media in an age of convergence where the boundaries between media are blurring.
