Course Goal

Enabling the student to gain new knowledge and skills about diesel engines.

Course Content

1-The working principle of diesel engines. 2-Turbocharging and Supercharging Systems 3-Usage of Turbocharging Systems in Diesel Engines 4-Motor diagrams. 5-Theoretical diesel cycle. 6-Practical diesel cycle (intake, compression, power, exhaust) 7-Engine characteristics,engine power, work, power, efficiency, mean pressures. 8-Midterm exam 9-Fuel injection systems 10-Fuel Injection Pumps 11-Common-Rail Diesel Injection System 12-Sensors in Common-Rail Diesel Injection System 13-Engine Diagnosis 14-Diesel engine knock and affecting factors 15-Injector characteristics 16-Final exam
