Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to teach the students the principles of linear and non-linear optical events.

Course Content

The electromagnetic nature of light; Optical wave equations; Optical coefficients; Optical materials; Classical propagation; Classical absorption theory; Interband absorption; Excitons; Inelastic light scattering; Introduction to non-linear optics.
