Course Goal / Objective
The main aim of this lecture is to gain knowledge and skills to students about the soil biotechnology and the biotechnology area reacted with soil science and soil microbial application. Also to give methodology of soil biotechnology.
Course Content
Definition of biotechnology related with agriculture and specifically with soil microorganisms, Rhizosphere dynamic related with soil fertility, The role of soil organisms such as free living N2-fixing bacteria, Rhizobium and mycorrhizae isolation and re-culture and re-inoculation to plant roots, Using soil organisms in micro propagated plant (tissue culture), Producing Bio fertilizers by using biotechnological methodology, Production of beneficial soil organisms using biotechnological methods, Bacterial inoculation, Plant growth regulations and phytotoxins and their effects on plant health and soil quality and relation with soil microorganisms, Mycorrhizae spore counting techniques, Mycorrhizal inoculation and using selected beneficial soil microorganisms in agriculture are the main subjects.
