Course Goal / Objective

In this lecture, biology and ecology of the Tetranychidae, Eriophydae, Tarsonemidae and Phyllocoptidae (Acari) which are the important pests of the different cultural plants in Mediterranean region will be focused. Phytoseiidae family which is the most effective naturel enemies of the plant feeding mites will be introduced and detailed information is given about using it as a predatory mites both in open field and greenhouse conditions. In addition, other methods used in the studies related to acari will also be focused.

General biology and ecology of the Acari Biology and ecology of the Tetranychidae, Eriophydae, Tarsonemidae and Phyllocoptidae families. Biology and ecology of the Phytoseiidae family
