Course Goal / Objective

Biophysics tries to formulate problems related to living organisms with physical concepts and to solve them with the laws of physics.

Course Content

Molecular structure of living systems, life molecules (proteins, carbohydrates, fats), biophysical evaluation of molecules, cell membranes, structure and function relationship, Transport and transports in cell membranes (Simple Diffusion, Active Transport, etc.), Channels and pumps that play a role in transport and transport (Ion Channels, Voltage Dependent Channels, ATPase Pump etc.), Bioenergetics (Free Energy and Energy Transfer in Living Things), Thermodynamics (Entropy, Enthalpy etc.), ATP and Chemical Energy Conduction, Mechanical, Kinetic and Heat Energy Conduction, Stable and Unstable State of the Cell,, Nernst Equilibrium Potential, Gibbs-Donnan Rule, Resting Dice and Action Potential

LO01 Comprehends the place and importance of Biophysics in living organism.
LO02 Learns the physical methods and concepts used in the clarification of biophysics, biological processes and the solution of biological problems.
LO03 Learns the molecules of life (Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fats) in the molecular structure of living systems and the biophysical evaluation of these molecules.
LO04 Understands the electrical events in the structure and function relationship of cell membranes and the importance of these electrical events.
LO05 learns the biophysical concepts involved in transport and transport (Simple Diffusion, Active Transport, etc.) in cell membranes, the physical laws and applications (Ion Channels, Voltage Dependent Channels, ATPase Pump, etc.)
LO06 In terms of bioenergetics (Free Energy and Energy Transfer in Living Things), learns the biophysical mechanisms that play a role in the energy transferred and lost to the living organism (Thermodynamics (Entropy, Enthalpy, etc.)
LO07 ATP and Chemical Energy Conduction, Mechanical, Kinetic and Heat Energy Conduction), learns how negative situations that occur in the Steady and Unstable State of the Cell affect the living organism.
LO08 Learns the Nernst Equilibrium Potential and Gibbs-Donnan Rule, which exist and apply in the stable and unstable state of the cell membrane, the resting membrane and Action Potential that play a role in the resting and active state of the cell.
