Course Goal / Objective
It is aimed to explain the general characteristics and general disease symptoms of abiotic factors, fungi, bacteria, viruses and virus-like agents that cause diseases in ornamental plants and new methods that can be used in the management of these diseases.
Course Content
Disease symptoms, disease formation mechanisms (virulence factors), the area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC), economic losses caused by fungal, bacterial and viral disease agents, disease epidemiology, hygiene and sanitation in disease control, healthy production material, the possibilities of using friendly microorganisms (antagonist bacteria, viruses and fungi) in biological control, the ways of induction resistance in plants and the possibilities of chemical control (nano particles, antimicrobial compounds, etc.) will be explained in ornamental plants.
