Course Goal

The main aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of semantics and to teach the principles and methods of semantic analysis.

Course Content

In this course, within the framework of the relationship between semantics and linguistics, philosophy and psychology, and in line with the principles of component analysis, formal semantics and cognitive semantics, basic topics related to the meaning of words and sentences (semantic properties of nouns and verbs, entailment, presupposition, modality, evidentiality, deixis, thematic roles, context, reference, inference, etc.) are discussed.
