Course Goal / Objective

To give the students basic information about wastewater treatment, description of the parameters used in the design of wastewater treatment systems and system design to the sample problems.

Course Content

Determination of wastewater flow. Wastewater collection system hydraulics, flow properties. Collection system design, combined and separate systems. Wastewater properties and analysis. Physical, chemical and biological treatment of wastewater. Advanced wastewater treatment. Sludge removal and treatment. Design of the classical treatment systems. Water reuse. Analysis of various treatment options.

Course Precondition

One should have taken "Wastewater Treatment" or a similar course at the undergraduate level.
