Course Goal / Objective

Livestock in our country is in a rapid change. Dairy cattle breeding is the field where the most comprehensive developments are experienced and the sector has reached the industrial dimension. In this context, the selection of raw materials used or to be used in feeding, the feeding strategies to be applied and their monitoring are among the factors affecting profitability and sustainability in dairy cattle farms. The course aims to monitor and convey the new approaches in this field and the anticipated changes in the future.

Course Content

In this course, alternative feed materials for dairy cattle, pre- and postpartum feeding practices, nutrient requirement models, dry period strategies, monitoring of feeding practices in milk, blood and urine, feeding and reproductive relationships will be emphasized.

Course Precondition

General Animal Nutrition and Ruminant Nutrition courses or instructor's approval are required.
