Course Goal / Objective
The objective of this course,is to teach NMR techniques and their usage in the elucidation and structural determination of the drug active ingredients together with bioactive compounds and biomolecules
Course Content
Basic concepts in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, Nuclear spin, Resonance and relaxation in NMR Spectroscopy, Magnetic Anisotropy, NMR Equipment, Usage of NMR spectroscopy, Chemical shift and factors affecting chemical shift, Spin-spin coupling, Usage of 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra in the synthesis of organic and bioorganic molecule and evaluation for their structural determination, 2D-COSY, APT, DEPT, HETCOR, HMQC, HMBC, NOESY and NOE techniques used in NMR spectroscopy, Two-dimensional NMR techniques used in characterization of drug and bioactive molecules and determination of their stereochemistry.
