Course Goal

The aim of this course is to understand the working principles of fuel cells, their properties and importance in energy conversion systems.

Course Content

Fuel cells and their basic properties, thermodynamics of fuel cell reactions, electrochemical reaction kinetics, mass transfer in fuel cells, heat transfer, low temperature fuel cells, history of low temperature fuel cells, high temperature fuel cells, history of high temperature fuel cells, alkaline fuel cells, phosphoric acid fuel cells, direct methanol fuel cells, solid oxide fuel cells.
