Course Goal

The aim of this course is; Discussing the concepts of democracy and human rights from different angles, determining their importance in social and political life, understanding the difference between what should be and the situation experienced, is to raise awareness especially about children's rights.

Course Content

Definition and historical development of human rights and democracy; democracy, freedom and equality concepts, different democracy conceptions, democratic culture, democracy in school and family, democratic citizenship; rights and freedoms, children's and women's rights, human rights international regulations (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, European Convention on Human Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc.); Basic problems in the field of human rights, human rights and democracy education.
