Course Goal / Objective

To gain an understanding of the principles of remote sensing, radiation, sensors and platforms, data acquisition, image processing, interactions of electromagnetic energy with plants, soil and water, remote sensing applications for land and water resources. The place and potentials of remote sensing and GIS in integrated environmental management, as well as case studies in local and global scales for resource management and biodiversity conservation.

LO01 Have knowledge about the usage areas of satellite images; use theoretical and practical knowledge in this field together with the solutions in the professional field.
LO02 Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems; To that purposes,, they know and comprehend the function of selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods and modeling techniques.
LO03 Develop information for GIS databases using remote sensing data and learn about database management issues.
