Course Goal

Application of optical and radar remote sensing, advanced remote sensing techniques for monitoring and modelling urban development to determine unplanned urbanisation. Additionally, analysis of high spatial remotely sensed data for urban and regional applications and urban information systems.

LO01 Have knowledge about the usage areas of satellite images; use theoretical and practical knowledge in this field together with the solutions in the professional field.
LO02 Ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems; For that purpose, they know and comprehend the function of selecting and applying appropriate analytical methods and modeling techniques.
LO03 Develop information for GIS databases using remote sensing data and learn about database management issues.
LO04 Obtains the necessary information for the use of current data and methods in multi-disciplinary studies.
LO05 Technical qualification is gained in the use of up-to-date data and software in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.
LO06 Gains knowledge of data acquisition, management and analysis by integration of Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing; solve engineering problems related to planning with current tools.

LO13 To be able to access information and to do resource research for this purpose, the ability to use databases and other information sources and awareness of necessity of lifelong learning have the ability to follow developments in science and technology and to renew themselves continuously.
