Course Goal

The purpose of this class is to teach and raise awareness about the vital importance of the culture embedded in a second language being taught and learned

Course Content

The interaction of language and culture may have important pedagogical implications that teachers need to consider, including the target culture, inter-cultures that may be present in the classroom, and the learners expectations concerning language learning and teaching. What learners expect from Native Speakers and Non-Native Speakers is also relevant, as is what teachers expect, and what they get, from different cultures in teaching situations.
