Course Goal

Student teachers are expected to be aware of alternative/innovative approaches, methods and techniques in ELT context, and to be able to decide on the most appropriate approach and method according to student needs

Alternative/Innovative approaches, methods, techniques in ELT, second language acquisition theories, student and teacher roles in ELT contexts, technology and language teaching/learning

LO02 Student teachers will be able to compare and contrast traditional methods and alternative/innovative methods, and select the best combination considering the student needs.
LO03 Student teachers will be able to learn about different assessment and evaluation techniques in traditional and alternative/innovative classroom environments.
LO04 Student teachers will be able to learn about the importance of culture in learning languages and international communication/interaction
LO05 In addition to traditional lesson plans, student teachers will be able to learn about preparing online lesson plans, exercises, homework, group/project work, and tests in order to enhance student performance and success.
LO06 Student teachers will be able to learn about teaching English for various purposes, such as English as a Second and Foreign Language, International English, English for Academic Purposes, and English for Specific Purposes.
LO07 Student teachers will be able to learn about subjects, such as Problem-Based, Corpus-Based Language Teaching, and Holistic Approach
