Course Goal
This course is to introduce the student to classical Islamic historical texts, to examine these texts and to learn how to benefit from these texts.
Course Content
Introducing the early Islamic historians such as Khalifa b. Hayyât, İbn Kutaybe, Balâzurî, Ya'kûbî Taberî, Mes'ûdî, Birûnî, Makdisi and Ibn Khaldun, teaching their works that have reached us, and explaining the expressions and patterns in the texts.
