Course Goal

To explain the basics of glass formation in glass sciences, the structure of glass, the effects of the atoms forming it, to determine the basic glass makers and glass structures, to analyze the glass stack calculation, to name the glass melting methods.

Course Content

Relationship between glass structure and thermal expansion in glasses, furnace charts, possible problems with thermal expansion after glass melting and shaping, Relationship between physical properties of glass and glass composition, definition of chemical durability of glass according to compounds.

There are no prerequisites for the course.
