Course Goal / Objective

This course aims to provide to the students the basic principles of visual culture, visual perception and persuasion on a theoretical and practical basis.

Course Content

This course aims to introduce art and design students to the principles of visual perception and design. The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic visual language, concepts and visual communication processes that enable the understanding, interpretation and production of different visual message forms by using visual perception and design principles, and to provide an understanding of visual elements. The Interprets in this course; explains visual perception theories, evaluates reflections of these theories on the design process, relates visual perception to the design process, evaluates the design environment based on perception theories examples and academic researches in order to formulate strategically the social messages.
