Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental principles of medical virology, to understand the molecular biology and pathogenesis of viruses, and to gain knowledge about the diagnosis and evaluation of clinically important viral infections.

Course Content

This course covers the classification, structure, replication mechanisms, and pathogenesis of medically important viruses. Molecular characteristics of DNA viruses, their interactions with host cells, immune evasion strategies, and associated diseases are discussed. Basic virological diagnostic methods are also introduced.

Course Precondition

Basic knowledge of Microbiology and Immunology is recommended.
