Course Goal / Objective

The aim of this doctoral course is to provide doctoral students in the field of early childhood education with a critical perspective on concepts and theories that are established in developmental sciences and that shape contemporary approaches.

Course Content

Developmental concepts and theories, current philosophical and scientific roots of developmental science, meta-theoretical models of development, different approaches to development, the orthogenetic principle, relational developmental system-based theories, reflections of theories on practice and research.
