Course Goal

Plant-human relationship, plants used for medicinal, economic and some other purposes among the public.

Course Content

Pharmaceutical Botany or Pharmacobotany, pharmaceutical Botany, is an applied branch of botanical science. In this course, medicinal plants carrying pharmaceutical active substances and Drogs obtained from their various organs are given information about the active substances they cover, where they are used. Classification of medicinal plants, i.e. Systematics, scientific nomenclature and plant diagnosis; systematic sorting of medicinal plants in various plant groups, especially vascular plants, from an evolutionary point of view; introduction of poisonous and economic plants; Flora and plant biodiversity of Turkey; introduction of natural and medicinal plants of Turkey and innovations related to medicinal plants are among the aims of the course of pharmaceutical Botany.
